the deaf plea

the music blaring from the apartment slowly faded out. the corridor was a little smelly from the rains but it was not cold. as she leaned back against the wall, she dreaded what was going to come. it was difficult to see his face. she leaned back and looked at the ceiling. closing her eyes she tried not to imagine of the times they had spent together.

he was looking at her. his eyes were searching for some clues. he knew what he had to say, he knew he was not fair. but he dreaded her answer. his forehead was sweating and his body was pulsating with energy. the defeaning silence eveloped both of them. he looked at her face, the outline of her nose and the sharp but curved lips, the nosering and her hair falling on her shoulders.
forgive me he said. forgive me. he looked down overcome with shame. he could no longer look her in the eye. his eyes looked right beyond the wooden floor. he searched his heart for words and poured it out. i made a mistake but forgive me. i would like to be with you. ill be there for you whenever you need me. you should understand that boys tend to realize much later than girls do. ill even read shakespeare. well that is if you insist. otherwise i can cook your favourite dish he said with a smile. and slowly his eyes looked at her. he was hoping for a hint of happiness. a hint of her love. his face was still downwards but his eyes looked directly at her demanding an answer.

she felt the weight of the world on her shoulders. she could not think. she looked behind him at the stairs leading upstairs. she felt weak. moving him aside and walking past him she sat on the stairs. he slowly crounched and held her hand. she took her hand out of his grip gently and clasped her body. she felt a little cold. her eyes were giving him the answer but she knew she had to say it out loud. no she said. no no no. and its not because i dont love you. i dont think you will be able to make me happy. softly her words crushed his hopes. crushed the hopes a desperate man wanting to feel something. he looked at her, the last plea of a man .. we could try. she smiled and shook her head slowly while smiling. a tear drop. she stood up, opened the door to her apartment. loud music from the apartment made it seem unreal and it slowly became silent as she closed the door.
