the day

he stood on top , his profile outlined by the sunset in the background. standing with his arms on the walls he stared onto the road, he looked at the people walking below him ... the children with their parents, the man walking with his friend, a person walking alone ... all alone and then the vehicles that slowly ebbed past this narrow lane. it was like a pattern , a pattern of predictability. people do so well fit into their stereotypes - the school kid, the college student , the husband , the father , the mother , the son , daughter. are we programmed ?!
he walked into the boredom that was presented to him every single day , he walked knowing what he would have to do every single day. while some people were comfortable he just cringed in vain. he was chained to the daily needs of his carnal self , chained by soceity , chained by obligations. why did he feel the need to set himself free , set himself free from the thoughts of monotony every single day. his work neither thrilled him or filled any kind of passion in him. he longed for something more ... what was it inside that was waiting to come out. he had no idea, he could not put his finger to it. he was 21 , yes just 21 but life had come a complete circle. the past haunted him , the future scared him. he watched as everyone around him took it for granted in these everyday pursuits, how long could it last he wondered .. could no one realize they have been doing the same freaking thing every day for the past 30 years or was it a part of growing up when it longer bothered anyone.
he sighed and walked down the stairs with every single step bringing him to the eventuality that he had to face.
