i remember you
they walked hand in hand , through that lonely road cutting across the green trees on both sides. across the river, the sun was setting in its glory but there was a stillness to the entire place. she was not walking, rather jumping almost. excited with the sun in her face, the breeze in her long hair and the flush on her cheeks. her beautiful lips would lit up with a wide sincere smile that he lived for that moment over and over again.
her voice had a deep sense of innocence to it, which she teased him with. made fun of him. pulled him closer to her heart with every word that was uttered. the rays of the sun rested on her soft skin knowing it would be a sacrilege to harm it in any possible way. but he knew he held sway over her that evening, there need no fancy dinner, fancy flower, fancy dress. the dream was in the moment right here and right now.
as the evening was slowly drawing to a close they saw a clearning, where a bunch of flowers were growing. hand in hand she led him to that place. wanting him to pluck it and give it to her. give he did but also drew her close to him. he shifted the hair that fell across her face, like a petite queen hiding from her prince behind those curtains. she had a half smile , more in anticipation than with happiness. he held her hair and drew her lips to his. he felt the sweet soft lips in his and he drowned in that moment. her eyes had the look of love, the one that pins for her lover. he looked her in those vacant eyes which were yearning for his love. he did not say anything. words were not required to fill the moment. she understood him. she did. he hoped she did, there was no way to tell.
she looked away from his eyes. they were too powerful to resist. but what she looked around only held her in awe. there were fireflies, and the stars were starting to show in the sky. was this a dream she asked herself. leaning against him on the tree she felt like she was living a dream. every second now seemed timeless. every second now seemed like nothing. there was no time before and no time after. she felt like the moment was overpowering. casping his body closer she hugged for what he brought to her life. she did not want to leave him at all. she looked at him and she hoped that he would understand. she wanted him to read that message in her eyes, her hands, her lips, her body, her soul. she leaned in to smell his perfume and intoxicate her to the depths of immortality. she looked for one final time before kissing him softly, slowly uttering her messages in those kisses.
time stood still as they buried their love there.
