musical moment

he trudged his way unwilling through the streets on a cloudy and windy day. the only thing he looked forward to was some music to light up this day. time was of no consequence today , he had all the time in the world. and suddenly as he took the road to the concert location , the park was transformed. now there were stages, food stalls , drink stalls ... small kids in festive spirits running around, adults swaying to the beats of the music.

and just like that his mood lifted. there was something to this human spirit of infectious moods. as he made his way to the main stage , people were slowly coming in. there was huge orchestra setting up. he was in time, he didnt want to miss this today. as he looked beyond the stage it made for perfect setting. the clouds were lifting and the sun was slowly making its descent. the skies were warming up to orange lights, the breeze was wafting across the dark green grass. beyond was it the imposing structure of the museum with a flag fluttering on top. as he looked around , the faces of people were eagerly lit with anticipation. kids held on the shoulders of their parents , couples holding each other tighter with every passing moment. soon the performers , the musicians , the artists that would enthrall and hold sway over everyone tonight took their places. he was far away to discern any possible emotion on their faces but he imagined them looking at this huge crowd.

 then the music slowly started , and the stage lit in beautiful lights. and the music filled his body slowly at first , making his bones move a bit. sending a warmth that slowly oozed across his body. he felt the beats taking over , his mind now less distracted. slowly he was enraptured by the sight before him. then the beats increased , the music grooved to a beat. people grooved along with it. dancing in joy , singing along from the bottom of their heart with no care in the world. the faces didnt mask any emotion , it was laid bare for all to see. after every piece claps ensued followed by another beautiful piece of music. slowly he was immersed into the music and didnt matter if it was in a strange language. the music now ebbed and flowed into his body , his mind was immersed in the notes and his heart felt the pang of a distant lover. the last song was ti amo by umberto tozzi , a beautiful piece. goosebumps as he stood transfixed by passionate voice that accompanied the music. he knew he had been touched.

ti amo - umberto tozzi
Give me your light wine
that you made while I was away
and linen sheets
give me the sleep of a child
that goes like "ta", dreams of horses, and turns on the other side
and a bit of work
let me hug a woman
that sings while doing the ironing.
And then let me make fun of you a bit
before we make love
dress up the anger as peace,
and put skirts on the light.

I do love you, and ask for forgiveness
do you remember who I am?
I love you, I love you, I love you,
I love you I love you

as he walked back he formed a poem of his own;

life is to be lived
plain and simple

the past and the future are just aberrations to the present
living the moment is the beautiful truth

like the symphony that strikes a chord deep in your soul
like the beauty of the art that takes your breath away
like the graceful dance of a ballerina
like the quiet serenity of mountain tops

its the moment that has to be savoured
in its pure essence , being present in the moment
is the most beautiful gift we can give to ourselves

revel in the moment
rejoice in the moment
celebrate in the moment
